HLC BOYS PROGRAM INFORMATION

 

 

HLC is committed to delivering a comprehensive club lacrosse program that focuses on developing players’ skills and lacrosse knowledge through a high level of teaching and coaching while encouraging players to participate in other sports.

Our Program Offers:  

  • Qualified and experienced coaches with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and US Lacrosse Level 1 to Level 3 certifications.
  • Opportunity to play higher-level lacrosse year round with fellow players from the area, surrounding counties and Pennsylvania.
  • Conveniently located facilities for practices and clinics at Hereford High School turf & Hereford Middle School. 
  • Competitively priced membership fees based on each particular team's league and tournament play.
  • Custom designed uniforms that include jersey, shorts, shooter shirt.
  • Position-specific clinics and training led by HLC coaches, guest instructors, and alumni college players.

 

Tryout Process:  Evaluations will be conducted by HLC’s coaching staff and knowledgeable independent evaluators.  Players will be evaluated on attitude, position-specific skills, athletic ability and lacrosse IQ during drills and scrimmage play.  Tryouts will conclude on August 27, 2017.  Players will be notified of results shortly after tryouts are complete.  Invitations to join a HLC team must be accepted or declined by September 1, 2017.  Failure to respond by the 1st will be considered a decline.

 

Commitment:  Scheduled practices and participation in clinics, leagues & tournaments will vary by team and depend on the age group.  Commitment level increases for older age groups. Typical commitment levels are as follows:

 

2021

·         Fall 2017 – Eight practices/Two Sunday tournaments possible.

·         Winter 2018 – Eight indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2018 – No practices or games during JV/V high school season.

·         Summer 2018 – Two practices per week for six weeks/ Four to five tournaments as determined by coach & team, ending in July.

 

 

2022

 

·         Fall 2017 – Eight practices/ One Sunday tournament possible.

·         Winter 2018 – Eight indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2018 – One to two practices per week prior to REC spring season scheduled games.  One practice per week after REC spring season games begin. All HLC players are encouraged to participate in a REC spring season in addition to HLC spring season.  Saturday games in HoCo spring club league.

·         Summer 2018 – Two practices per week for six weeks/ Three local tournaments and one away tournament as determined by coach & team, ending late June to mid July.

 

2023 through 2026

·      

·         Fall 2017 – Eight practices/ One Sunday tournament possible.

·         Winter 2018 – Eight indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2018 – One to two practices per week prior to REC spring season scheduled games.  One practice per week after REC spring season games begin. All HLC players are encouraged to participate in a REC spring season in addition to HLC spring season.  Sunday games in HoCo spring club league.

·         Summer 2018 – Two practices per week for six weeks/ Three local tournaments and one away tournament as determined by coach & team, ending late June to mid July.

 

2027 - 2028

 

·         Fall 2017 – Eight optional Sunday evening positional skills clinics.

·         Winter 2018 – Eight optional indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2018 – One practice per week during REC spring season/ Sunday HARCO or HoCo league 2017-2018  HLC players are encouraged to participate in a REC spring season in addition to HLC Spring season.

·         Summer 2018 – One to two practices per week for four weeks. One to two tournaments in June as determined by coach & team.

 

Membership Fees:  HLC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Fees are dictated by our costs of operation.  Club Fees for the 2017-2018  season will be announced shortly.
