HLC 2018-2019 BOYS PROGRAM INFORMATION

 

 

HLC is committed to delivering a comprehensive club lacrosse program that focuses on developing players’ skills and lacrosse knowledge through a high level of teaching and coaching while supporting players that are multi-sport athletes.

 

 

Our Program Offers:  

  • Qualified and experienced coaches with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and US Lacrosse Level 1 to Level 3 certifications.
  • Opportunity to play higher-level lacrosse year round with fellow players from within and around the Hereford Zone.
  • Conveniently located facilities for practices and clinics at Hereford High School turf & Hereford Middle School. 
  • Competitively priced membership fees based on each particular team's league and tournament play.
  • Custom designed uniforms that include jersey, shorts, shooter shirt.
  • Position-specific clinics and training led by HLC coaches, instructors, and alumni college players.

 

 

Tryout Process:  Evaluations will be conducted by HLC’s coaching staff and knowledgeable independent evaluators.  Players will be evaluated on attitude, position-specific skills, athletic ability and lacrosse IQ during drills and scrimmage play.  Tryouts will conclude on August 28, 2018.  Players will be notified of results shortly after tryouts are complete.  Invitations to join a HLC team must be accepted or declined by September 1, 2018.  Failure to respond by the 1st will be considered a decline.

 

Membership Fees:  HLC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  Fees are dictated by our costs of operation.  Members will pay four installments posted Oct 1st, Dec 1st, Feb 1st & April 1st. Fees cover HLC’s fixed expenses: equipment, practice facilities, clinics, insurance, website, league play, tournaments and coach/instructor stipends.  Club Fees for the 2018-2019 season will be announced shortly.

 

Commitment:  Scheduled practices and participation in clinics, leagues & tournaments will vary by team and depend on the age group.  Commitment level increases for older age groups. Typical commitment levels are as follows:

 

 

2021 - 2022

·         Fall 2018 – Eight or more practices/Two to three Sunday tournaments possible.

·         Winter 2019 – Eight or more indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2019 – No practices or games during JV/V high school season.

·         Summer 2019 – Two practices per week for six weeks/ Four tournaments as determined by coach & team, ending mid to late July.

 

 

2023 through 2027

·         Fall 2018 – Eight or more practices/ One to two Sunday tournaments possible.

·         Winter 2019 – Eight or more indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2019 – Two to three practices per week. Participation in one to two leagues as determined by coach and team. Four events a week in total.

·         Summer 2019 – Two practices per week for six weeks/ Two to three local tournaments and one away tournament as determined by coach & team, ending late June to mid July.

 

 

2028 - 2029

·         Fall 2018 – Eight optional Sunday evening positional skills clinics.

·         Winter 2019 – Eight optional indoor training sessions.

·         Spring 2019 – Two practices per week. Participation in one to two leagues as determined by coach and team. Four events a week in total.

·         Summer 2019 – Two practices per week for four weeks. Two tournaments in June as determined by coach & team.

Eligibility for Tryouts:  A player’s county or state residence, school, past club affiliations, or years of experience do not prohibit players from trying out.  Typically, players should be in grades 2 through 9 and have experience playing for rec travel and/or club teams.

Tryout Fee:  $40 one-time tryout fee.

 

 

Tryout Participation:  Players are encouraged to attend all evaluation sessions for their age group.  This will allow players the maximum opportunity to showcase their skills and provide the evaluators with the best opportunity to observe them.

At the time of registration, players will need to provide a valid U.S. Lacrosse ID number to participate in tryouts. Information on obtaining an ID number can be found at http://www.uslacrosse.org/membership.aspx
