Refund Policy: HLC has a no refund policy for tryout and membership fees. HLC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that strives to keep fees affordable for players and families. Accurate and stable registration numbers help this effort by allowing HLC to more accurately estimate expenses such as facilities, coaches, uniforms, equipment, and club website. A substantial percentage of these expenses become fixed costs after HLC commits based on the registration numbers.
HLC is a club level lacrosse program. Upon being offered a position on a team, you will be required to pay the membership fee. Your acceptance of a position on a team by payment is also your acceptance of our refund policy. By paying the membership fee, you understand and agree that you are potentially taking a roster spot from another player. In doing so, it is not possible for a team to fill your spot with another player.
In case of injury or other extenuating circumstance, HLC’s board of directors will review requests on a case-by-case basis. All requests must be submitted in writing or email to the board treasurer. Season ending injuries must be substantiated by a physician’s note. This is not a guarantee of reimbursement of non-refundable fees paid at the time of registration. No refunds will be granted for personal reasons including but not limited to school work, family relocation or conflicts with other sports.
Playing-Time Policy: A top priority for HLC is to ensure equal playing time for all players who are 100% committed to the program. Every player that makes an HLC team has earned the right to play in every game. Generally, if playing time in one game is unequal, coaches will make every attempt to balance out playing time in another. However, playing time can be impacted based on the player's effort, attitude, attendance and coachability. In extreme circumstances, the coach has the option to sit a player out for an entire game, if in the opinion of the coach, that player is negatively impacting the team. Each team will carry approximately 18-22 players. Small roster sizes will ensure players receive abundant playing time during league and tournament games.
Inclement Weather Policy: In the event of inclement weather, HLC will make every effort to continue that particular session at the complete discretion of the Program Director.
Inclement weather, such as heavy rain, may render fields unplayable prior to the start of a practice or clinic. HLC will make decisions about weather cancelations as soon as possible. However, HLC has until one hour prior to a session time to notify participants. Please check the Fields section of the HLC website for any weather-related cancelations.
If extreme weather occurs, such as lightening, extreme heat, hail, etc., HLC may be forced to cancel the session in order to protect player participants and staff. If an event is canceled for any reason, notice will be provided in at least one of three manners: 1.) posting on the Home page of the club website, 2.) posting on the HLC’s Facebook page, and/or 3.) email to participants.
The cancelation of away league games and tournaments are under the control of the organizers of those events. As soon as HLC is made aware of any schedule changes or cancelations, players will be notified through the methods outlined above.
HLC encourages parents to use common sense and make arrangements for the pick-up of their children if the weather suddenly turns or if lightning, tornado or severe weather warnings are issued.
